In the season finale of the second season of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, you may have noticed the scene where Pinkie Pie wields Twilight Sparkle as if she was a machine gun to fight off the changelings disguised as their dopplegangers.

For some reason, the first thing that came to my mind (especially from the way she was holding Twilight) was the M56 "Smartgun" used by the Colonial Marines in Aliens.
When the connection between the term "smartgun" and everybody's favorite adorkable egghead pony clicked, I knew I had to get it drawn.

So yeah... watch out Xenoponies...
Pinkie is about to party hard...

Also, new possible alternate names for this weapon includes:

M56 "Egghead Rifle"
M56 "Adorkable Assault Gun"
M56 "Magical Support Weapon"
M56 "Unicorn Weapon System"
M56 "Faithful Student"

This was a quick one-day work, which I used as an opportunity to dust off Photoshop and try some of CS5's new stuff, so I hope you're not expecting a work of art here.
Basically just the standard affair really. Initial draft followed by lineart, base colors and blending.
Because I borked the file settings at the start, the lineart is a lot darker and thicker than I intended it to be. There was also a background, which I removed at the last minute because I didn't like how it came out.
ll in all it was a lot of fun dropping an angry Pinkie Pie into a smart-gunners gear.
